Niagara Soccer Association (NSA)
Overview
The Niagara Soccer Association (NSA) operates in alignment with the insurance programs and requirements established by Ontario Soccer. Insurance coverage is an essential component of organized soccer and is designed to protect registered participants, clubs, officials, volunteers, and sanctioned activities.
All clubs, teams, and participants affiliated with NSA are expected to comply with Ontario Soccer’s insurance policies and registration requirements to ensure appropriate coverage is in place.
Who Is Covered
Insurance coverage generally applies to properly registered individuals participating in sanctioned soccer activities, including but not limited to:
Registered players
Registered coaches and team officials
Registered referees and match officials
Registered volunteers acting within their official capacity

Coverage is typically valid only when registration is complete and current.
Types of Coverage (General Information)
Ontario Soccer’s insurance program may include the following forms of coverage:
General Liability Insurance
Provides protection against claims arising from bodily injury or property damage occurring during sanctioned soccer activities.
Participant Accident Insurance
Offers limited coverage for registered participants in the event of accidental injury during sanctioned activities.
Officials & Volunteers Coverage
Registered referees and volunteers are generally covered while performing assigned duties within sanctioned events.
Important: Insurance coverage does not replace personal health insurance and may have limits, exclusions, and deductibles.
Club Responsibilities
Clubs affiliated with NSA are responsible for:
Ensuring all players, officials, and volunteers are properly registered
Confirming activities are sanctioned by NSA and Ontario Soccer
Understanding the scope and limitations of available insurance coverage
Informing participants that coverage is subject to Ontario Soccer policies
Failure to comply with registration or sanctioning requirements may result in loss of coverage.
Participant Responsibilities
Players, parents/guardians, and officials should:
Ensure registration is completed before participation
Review insurance coverage details carefully
Maintain personal health or supplemental insurance where necessary
Report injuries or incidents promptly according to league procedures
Certificates of Insurance
Certificates of Insurance may be requested for sanctioned events, facilities, or tournaments, subject to Ontario Soccer procedures and approval timelines.
Requests should be submitted through the appropriate club or district channels.
